Upgrading

Have recently sorted my Wifi network [ HUGE thanks to Thenry ] for the assist and got it all recognising etc .......... so rang up to upgrade my bandwidth currently on 10meg looking to go 20 or 30 for the superhub to tidy up my wires and get rid of another plug ..... only to be told that it will cost a one off fee of £30.00 to upgrade and £75.00 if i stay on 10 and opt for a hub ------ surely this cant be right ------------------ is there a way round this i dont mind paying for a service but object vehemently to one-off fees.
Hoping you's guys are in the know

Re: Upgrading

£30 is the fee for the super hub, not sure if the fee applies to 50meg. Ones on eBay won't work as they are stolen

off cable website: Free Virgin Media Super Hub for 30Mb, 50Mb and 100Mb: Available to all new broadband customers taking our 30Mb, 50Mb or 100Mb broadband services, and to existing customers upgrading to 30Mb, 50Mb and 100Mb broadband (subject to status and credit checks). Broadband activation fees may apply. SuperHub provided free while you are a subscriber. Wireless-enabled equipment required. Existing customers not upgrading their package can buy a Virgin Media Hub for £60 or a Virgin Media SuperHub for £75. Equipment remains property of Virgin Media.

no where does it say 30 quid. the 30 quid is to activate it so got retention option 5 and option 2 from 150 and see if u can get it knocked if 30 u cannot get it on then try 50 then downgrade after a month.

Re: Upgrading

No They still pay the £30, as I can upgrade customers to 20 to avoid the fee

Re: Upgrading

Hi ive never paid a upgrade fee on any products v+ box supplied and installed free few months back up graded from 20MB to 30MB free media hub no £30 fee had to install myself then contact to activate. Here's what to do contact vm when ask for phone tv cable bills select i want to leave not happy you will be connected to uk call centre just explain you are not happy with the one off fee is there anything you can do for me reason this works for me ive been with vm for over ten year's and i just tell them sky have offered me a better deal on the tv packages so they try there best to keep me it does sign you up to a new 12mths contract when you upgrade your services. If you not been with them long may not work but give it a try its only a phone call be nice .
