Hannspree TV anyone?

Hi.
I was thinking of buying a Hannspree SJ28DMBB TV as they seem to be particularly good value (£232.95 from either Amazon or Ebuyer) for the spec. However, from trawling the reviews and forums, it would appear some people have been having trouble getting their receiver box remotes to work with the telly.
I notice that there are a couple of Hannspree codes in the VM list but just wondered if anyone had one of these TVs (or similar model) and had successfully managed to get it to work with their V+ remote, before I go out and spend my hard earned spondoolicks on it!
Thanks.

Re: Hannspree TV anyone?

Bit of a late reply, but for anyone else who may stumble across this post

I ordered this TV alongside a mobile phone contract as a "free gift" and cant fault it. there isn't a code in the manual for the vm remotes but i found that you can do an automatic search to find the correct code (takes a while but it does get there eventually).

Ignore the poor reviews by the way, i'm pretty sure some of these people are complaining about the picture quality of their non HD channels... its an HDTV so its going to show all the imperfections of the poorer quality programmes!!!

I bought this TV for my daughter's room, and have it hooked up to a new VHD box. The remote works fine, just followed the on-screen instructions. I have not tried it on a V+ box though.

Re: Hannspree TV anyone?

have got a 42" one of these tv's and its been faultess so far

i was apprehensive upon buying as i hadn't heard of this make before, but as the tv was only £379 with £50 cashback it was worth it even if i only got the 12 months guarantee out of it, had it a couple of years and still goin good

it works well with VM boxes although i did use the search function

A quick update to the above, after much research, I discovered that the Type 11 remote which I had would not work with this TV. However the Type 12, which looks exactly the same except it has white writing on the front, does work successfully. I couldn't be bothered contacting VM to try and get them to give me one, so I bought one from eBay (for about a fiver if I remember correctly). This solved my problem.
Hope this helps anyone who has one of these TVs as they do seem to be very good value for money.
