TiVo : Weird Tivo channel wrongness

OK, this is odd. Last night, I tried to change channel from BBC News to Comedy Central HD (or something) and it waited a bit with a blank screen and then came up with a box saying that the channel was unavailable.

It was recording two other programmes, so I didn't reboot it then, but switching to other channels did much the same thing, but BBC News worked, so I assumed it was a random glitch.

Today, I changed to BBC 1 to watch the F1 qualifying, and the channel being shown was BBC Parliament. Tivo thought it was on BBC1, but it clearly wasn't. It's as if all the channel IDs had got mixed up.

So, I rebooted it, and after lots of "just a few more minutes" messages, it's now working. I've not yet checked if the recordings were on the right channels last night.

So, has anyone seen anything like this before? Does the "just a few more minutes" message mean it was doing an upgrade or something similar? Any ideas?

How long have you had your Tivo? maybe it just needed to finish with the updates. I found when mine were installed I had to manually conntect it a few times a find each time it would download stuff. I think the third time it was finally up to date. So maybe it was a glitch in an update.

It's been working fine for a couple of months now. Hopefully it'll carry on working now.

In which case it's not a new box issue. Hopefully just a glitch in the latest software download that was cleared with the reboot. Fingers crossed
