Re: getting the tivo for 50 pounds

I think that will be the 500gb box and not the 1tb box as 1 is charged £149 and the other is charged £49. Take your pick of which is which?

You can swap out which ever box you want, so yes.

Re: getting the tivo for 50 pounds

I think you will still need to pay the £40 install? Check the small print.

It says this on the TiVo page.

Quote:
Installation charges: Standard installation charge of £40 applies for existing customers upgrading to a TiVo box.

Re: getting the tivo for 50 pounds

VM need to address this 'small print' and quickly

It's evident just from the amount of posts that lot of customers are totally unaware of £40 install fee & this is exacerbated by advisors not mentioning install fee during the sale either - if the customer is unaware they can not reach 'an agreement'

VM have refunded lots of customers on forums for this very reason - which is acknowledgement of this very issue - VM cant plead ignorance they are now 'On Alert'

How many people in the real world are being stitch up we can only guess - but it will be 1000's

Hence VMs need to address this 'small print' and quickly

Updating a web page takes minutes - they could do that today!

...so do ALL companies, e.g. the current Sky adverts tell you their triple package is only £20 per month but only tell you in the very small print that you need a Sky or BT line, not even an asterix on the price.

Easy

big enough so that this poster (and god know how many others) are not under the illusion of "getting the tivo for 50 pounds" such that the following 2 posts need to point him to the actual terms

that way they can enter into 'an agreement' where both parties (not just VM) understand the boundaries

It's not difficult to act in 'good faith' and VM are now most definitely "ON ALERT" such that any/all other 'mistakes' are deliberate and intentionally misleading

Re: getting the tivo for 50 pounds

So really it cost £90 for vip customers unless you upgrade to vip and its free then,I see they look after us vip ppl to get the hd package we had to pay a activation fee now they want us to pay £40 to swop a box out that takes 30 secs not a chance i,m paying that and i guess like the special hd package we got for £96.50 that a few months later the upped the price 2

It's not a 30 seconds install and has to have a installer to check various things.

Re: getting the tivo for 50 pounds

lol i used to work for virgin m8 and ok i was a bit harsh 2 mins tops,he check signal id etc in settings if he is a gd engineer, most won,t bother and as long as there is a picture that will be it,as for the £40 why as a already customer should we pay as as most of us have paid for all the other upgrades activation fee's in the past, but if someone upgrades they get it free hardly seems a loyal act from virgin to loyal customers who have already paid for other upgrades,I have no problem paying for the box but i refuse to pay again and again for every new service they decide to bring out.

It does seem unfair, but looking at it from VMs point of view, the person who upgrades is on the upgrade for at least 12 months and VM will recoup the 'free' installation costs from the increased monthly revenus from the person who upgrades. They won't get any extra monthly revenue from you.

One rule for one, and another for another... should be the same price for all, including non employees whether they are mates or not
