V+ : V Box Remote changes my TV channel

Hi all
Just had TIVO installed and my existing box moved to a second room that has a 6 month old Phillips TV. Annoyingly, if I press the channel up/down on the V box remote the TV 'source' changes as well. Also pressing the numbers (say, 101) selects channel 1 on the TV. This happens whether the remote is coded to work the TV volume or not.
The installing engineer tried a brand new remote with the same result and was unable to fix, so I'm stuck with having to tape over the TV IR sensor and get up to change volume, etc on the TV (yes I'm old enough to remember having to do this first time round ;-)).
Anyone seen this before, and know how to get around it?

Yes, I've come across the before with Philips TVs. It needs a firmware update. Check the Philips website or failing that contact their support department.
