V+ : Problems switching between hdmi and scart

I have had V+ since it first came out.
Connected via HDMI to my main tv and scart to tv transmitter so I can watch channels throughout the house.

For certain programs like doctor who I would switch the settings to hdmi and watch in hidef. But tonight when I did that I could not get a picture.

So I rang faults and they reset the video settings to hi def and everything was ok until I tried to change the display back to widescreen, then I lost all display again. Switched tv input to scart and nothing. had to ring faults again and they reset my video settings.

I have had this set up for over 12 and never had any issues before when changing settings.

Has there been a recent software update that might of changed something?

Can I reset myself without calling up if I can't get a display on tv ?

Any advice?

Needs to be in VCR scart not tv scart.
