Has my digibox died?
Hey folks,
I turned on my TV this afternoon and switched on my SD digibox to find that my remote control wouldn't work. I assumed it was just the batteries at first, but then I noticed that the front panel text on the digibox was garbled beyond recognition. I tried unplugging the digibox, waiting 30 seconds and plugging it back in, and now all I get is the NTL logo (it's an old NTL Samsung SMT-2100C digibox, that I've had since the NTL days) for a few seconds, and then it jumps to the what I believe to be the engineer's setup screen (grey in colour, tons of boxes with technical information), but I can't figure out how to proceed from there. After unplugging the digibox and plugging it back in, the text on the screen on the front of the digibox remains the same scrambled mess.
Is my box well and truly buggered or is there a simple fix for this please? It was working fine last night when I turned it off and has worked that way for years.
At one point the garbled text on the front of it even looked like it was saying "USSR". Am I being messed with by time travelling Soviet spies? :P
Cheers for any help you guys can offer, I'd rather get a few ideas on here first before I inevitably ring through to India to talk to "Darren"

Re: Has my digibox died?
You will need to call up as it sounds like the box is dead and will need replacing and it will be a quick call as it will be a total loss call and an engineer will be booked within minutes.

Re: Has my digibox died?
Engineer came and replaced my digibox with a black Cisco V Box (4585-something), top notch stuff
Shame I'm not on the HD packages though really, not living here long enough to warrant getting a 12 month contract extension hehe.
Cheers,
-KsE
