Blips on BBC2

For the last few months I have noticed that every evening without fail at about 6:55pm, whatever program is being transmitted, the BBC2 signal distorts for about 5 seconds and a short time later (seconds) it is followed by a second blip of similar duration.
I cannot believe that this is a transmission problem which originates from the BBC and I assume it must be a Virgin Media problem.
Anyone else noticed this and what is the problem?

Yes I get exactly the same glitch as you and I live in Northampton. I agree with your assumption
A mystery for someone out there to come up with an answer.

Have you checked to see if you get the same problem on the alternate BBC2 variants on 852 and 865?

Thanks both. No, I will try tonight and see what happens and report back. What are these extra channels all about?

National versions (London) BBC/ITV and extra regional in some regions due to overlap areas of franchises.

Yes I get this, as does a mate on Sky at exactly the same time on BBC2 6:55 to 6:58pm every night (well weekdays anyway).
I've checked Freeview at the same time at that is clear.
