Farm Staff Caught Abusing Ducks

Disgusting!!!

Warning: Some forum members may find this film very distressing

I wept after watching this

Quote:
An investigation by Sky News and Hillside Animal Sanctuary has uncovered evidence of free-range ducks being swung by their necks by farm workers.Secretly-filmed footage taken at Hall Farm in Hingham, Norfolk, shows the birds being herded onto crates to be taken away for slaughter.
But some workers are seen picking ducks up by their necks and swinging them before throwing them back into the flock.
As well as sick and injured birds, we also discovered dead birds left to rot among the flock
Waitrose has ended it's link with the farm now.

Re: Farm Staff Caught Abusing Ducks

I couldn't bear to watch.

I am constantly sickened by the barbaric treatment toward animals that some twisted sadists take great delight in handing out. Unfortunately the only deterrent seems to be a small fine and an order (probably unenforced) not to keep animals for a few years.

Never mind 'human rights' the proverbial book should and must be thrown at miscreants found guilty of these types of offences.

Re: Farm Staff Caught Abusing Ducks

This kind of thing happens all the time, it's sad, but at the end of the day, those ducks are going to be on the end of someone's fork. Obviously, It's because of human demand. Just stop buying it.

The worst thing about it though, they were supposed to be organic ducks. Waitrose were paying a premium to that farm.

Customers were buying them as they thought they'd had a decent life and had been treated humanely.

Sadly it goes on all over the country but we choose to do nothing about it.

A mate of mine used to work for a poultry company who reared chickens for sale to the mainstream supermarkets in the UK. He said if you saw how badly they were treated you wouldn't eat chicken again. He said all this about welfare of the animals is a load of tosh, there's bird carcases all over the hen house, disabled chickens trying to stand up etc etc.

I can't abide any animal cruelty. It's unforgivable. I do stand up and support charities and causes for this like this.

I'm totally gone of eating any kind of animal in future. My stomach is sick to what they go through poor things.

That would also be cruelty to animals.
