deleting partion from laptop harddrive. tips/advice please
my laptop is an acer 6920g. i think at the moment its 250gb, but when i bought it had been partitioned (i have windows vista on one partition and windows 7 on the other)
what i want to do is delete the windows vista partition, so i just have one partition on it with windows 7...how can i do this safely?
on another side note...if i want to change the harddrive totally to a bigger one, is there a way i can replicate everything from my existing harddrive onto the new one? what harddrive do i need that would work in my laptop. its an acer 6920g.
Re: deleting partion from laptop harddrive. tips/advice please
"parted Magic" (note the difference in name) is another option. it's free, quick and easy to use.
also, bare in mind that if you are changing a dual boot system, you may need to make appropriate changes to any boot files. in windows 7, you need to use BootMgr, as boot.ini is not used any longer. i believe it involves the use of the windows 7 dvd. or EasyBCD, which is downloadable... LINKY to EasyBCD
