PC Gaurd - now Virgin Media Security, how good is it?

I am having to buy a new PC (long story). All new ones seem to come with some form of trial protection, mostly Norton or McAfee. But seeing as I get PC Guard Total for free, I was wondering how good is it against attacks.

EDIT. Oops, title should read: PC Gaurd, how good is it?

i use VM 's av which i believe is the successor to pc guard and find it very good , a bit of advice if needed, as soon as you get your new pc uninstall the trials you may need to use the norton removal to get rid of norton

Corrected for you

As for PC Guard / VM security, my son has it on his laptop and my lady has it on hers. Both of them have reported no problems with it.

I still have some time left to run on my kaspersky and if they continue to have no problems I shall switch then.

Thanks guys (especially Thomas; fat fingers are not my friends ). I was just hoping not to have to spend money unnecessarily on something that is perfectly adequate and I get for free.
