Christmas - is it rip off time for the consumer

Christmas time is a time to be jolly, but l always wonder, is it the time of year that the customer gets well and truly ripped off by the shops.

We don't feel we get ripped off - there's always lots of good deals about if you look around.

Just because you get ripped off doesn;t mean to say that the rest of us don't actually look around before buying stuff

Re: Christmas - is it rip off time for the consumer

There is a load of rubbish in the shops particularly at this time of year and we are enticed to buy far too much.

However it's just a case of exercising good common sense and only spending what you can afford and only buying what you need.

Re: Christmas - is it rip off time for the consumer

I think we do get ripped off for certain products.
If you look at Christmas cards some are about £5 for folded cardboard. Rip off.

Electrical goods have also gone up in price this year due to the whole economy financial messup so expect to pay more there too.

Just don't give in to the commercialised scam that Christmas has become.

Get ripped off all year round instead.

The only good things about christmas as far as I'm concerned.... Spending time with the people you love, and the turkey dinner.

Totally agree, its a time for family, friends and loved ones. Also the turkey may be reprieved this year in favour for goose.

I wont be seeing my grown up kids till 27th Dec when their up for 4 days with mt grandson & I wont be seeing my 2 youngest kids because the bitch of an ex wont let me see them.

Christmas is far to comercialised but the deals are there to be had so if you do get ripped off there is only one person to blame and thats yourself

Re: Christmas - is it rip off time for the consumer

Our local ASDA has got a very good offer on at the moment, you can buy 2 bottles of Fanta for £3, if you buy them separate they only cost you 99p each. ASDA are the experts in ripping people off.
