V+ Query

Sorry if I have posted in the wrong area.
I currently have just the normal Virgin box on the XL package. My questions are what if I were to get hold of a V+ box say from ebay and plug it into my cable using my Virgin card would it work?
I have a Virgin connector block that I could run another cable from if my V+ needs another cable feed from.
Would I be able to do this and if so would I need to do anything else?
Thanks in advance for any help.

......I have a V+ installation with a standard STB as my additional box - if I was to get an additional V+ box from fleabay to replace my standard box, would that work?

Re: V+ Query

You buy a second hand box of Ebay then you will be receiving stolen goods, because at all times the box remains the property of Virginmedia, also the box will not work as it cannot be added to your account, and its only use would be as an expensive doorstop.

Call Virgin and get a box from them that you know will work.

Re: V+ Query

... I'm still choking on the price quoted to rent the additional box - extra tenner plus I'm already paying extra £5 pcm for the standard box....

Especially as the feed to my extra box will already carry ALL the services anyway so it's like have to pay rent on the fuel in your car which you already know is there...or am I missing something

The part where a box not supplied by Virgin cannot be added to your account and nor will the card work either in another box as they are paired.

Re: V+ Query

..okay, I understand that.

It's just that I hadn't planned on letting too many moths out of my wallet to the sum of £15 pcm to access something that I'm already paying for with my subscription

I know I'm going a bit Victor Meldrew..but an additional £180 a year - when I'm already paying £1200 per year kinda makes my blood boil

Might be worth a call to the retention team

Just ask about the variance in price and is the anything they can do.

A bit more information would help, such as letting us know what you got sorted.

Re: V+ Query

ahh sorry .....

.. they kindly offered to re-jig my original V+ offer (2yrs ago) so that I will now pay a £75 install fee - even though the engineer will have next to nothing to do except drink tea and biscuits - and my monthly bill will actually come down £10pcm

I'm in clover......
