Usb 2.0

Recently i have been having issues with my USB ports/drivers where anything that is plugged into my USB 2.0 ports stops working after a while.
Not really sure when it started, I think about 3 weeks ago.

I recently added a wireless printer, but don't think that caused issue.
Recently added sata drive and installed vista sp2. Uninstalled today and still had same issue.

Waiting for windows 7 to be delivered, not sure if to wait and install w7 and hope that will cure it. Also thinking about installing pci card that has 5 USB ports on it, but not sure if I will have the same problem.

Any thoughts on best way to approach ?

Re: Usb 2.0

Different cable, or un-install the usb in device manager, restart windows, let it discover the usb and install the drivers, if that fails it could be that the board is damaged, we are taking about integral / onboard usb and not additional, aren't we ? Try the pci card and test the cable to prove it.

Cable is ok when plugged into USB 1.
I will get pci card today and try that before I start removing drivers
