Problems after file deletion

Im having problems with my dads pc after deleting files the free space dont shop up even though the files have been deleted from the recycle bin.

ive tried using cyber scrub to clean the drives free space but makes no difference to space.

I have since last night i have deleted well over 1.5GB off stuff and its not shown up at all.

Anyone help?

tried a scan disk or a defrag?

After doing the above use treesize to find out which files are gobbling up the space. It'll allow you to delete directly from the interface.

Horace i just tried that and it wont allow me to delete some files as this seemed an interesting topic i thought id give it a try myself.

It says for example [Files] 1085mb and it wont allow me to delete these, i wonder if the other chris has same issue?

yes i have the same identical problem as you welsh chris.

it says in brackets [files] 1811mb but they wont delete and i think like you they are the files that have been deleted yet staying there and taking up the space.

Have you tried a reboot? It could be temp files that can only deleted on reboot when windows isn't using them?
