Failed BB connection

My computer has suddenly stopped connecting to the Internet via BB.

Virgin 2mb via modem.
winXP pro/2
IE

It is not the connection as such..I am using my laptop with the same BB connection.

I now get a window asking for name/password, and a message that the server cannot be found..

Any help/advice GREATLY APPRECIATED

Re: Failed BB connection

Did it get any recent update / patch such as windows, driver or whatever? Worse, could you have downloaded some malware

Check the Browser isn't trying to dial a connection and that the TCP/IP stuff is all set to auto in the network connection properties.

Re: Failed BB connection

Tell us more about this window that pops up - as soon as you open IE? No websites work? What about email? Can you download the firefox installer (www.getfirefox.com) on your laptop and copy it to the other PC (via USB disk) and then try firefox on the PC?
