Routing problems in knowsley

Hi All. Wonder if there are any techs could look into what appears to be a routing problem in knowsley. There was an outage that hit both my parents and also my house last night and since then I cant connect at all to news-europe.giganews.com with news reader. Also IP addresses seem to have been re-assigned as I now have a 92.x.x.x address and previously was on a 77.x.x.x one even though my mac addr has not changed.

Tracert here:

Tracing route to news-europe.giganews.com [216.196.109.144]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 7 ms 7 ms 7 ms 10.116.168.1
2 7 ms 9 ms 15 ms osr01live-ge331.network.virginmedia.net [81.97.114.150]
3 10 ms 11 ms 9 ms osr01know-tenge71.network.virginmedia.net [62.30.249.21]

Re: Routing problems in knowsley

They are tinkering with merging ntl and Telewest's networks still. Sadly there are side effects

Can't access Virgin news server or other highwinds servers. In Liverpool. No ping.

Re: Routing problems in knowsley

I tried to tracert an online game that i play which resulted in the exact same tracert result richardwholt had.
I set up a proxy and have since been able to access all webaddress's.
This is the one that was recommended and worked for me webcache.virginmedia.com proxy set to port 8080

Yeah. First thing I tried to do was to look on virgin news server to see if there was any maintainence but sadly didnt work.

Wish telewest had never been taken over. Their service was great and all the support people were local lads at the albert dock and very friendly.
