Tiscali- super fast broadband. Y/N ?
I know every company wants to show its self in the best light possible, but in the case of Tiscali is their latest ad campaign just a little misleading. I was with Tiscali a few months back and by absolutely no measure would I call their service "super fast", I live one and a half miles from the exchange and at best Id get 4mb but more often than not, when I wanted to use it 6.00pm to 10.00pm I was getting on average 1mb, sometimes less. Compared with the likes of VM [whom Im with now] O2 and Be who do offer and deliver speeds in excess of 10mb, I can not see how Tiscali can use the phrase "super-fast broadband"

Hello,
Tiscali, where do I start?
In the USA they provide a lot of connection services, I just do not think that they have quite latched on to the right edge of our UK market.

Suzanne Fletcher

I agree longjohn, on its own 4mb BB at £25 is expensive, but given the choice in my case of going back to Tiscali for around a tenner a month or paying VMs prices, its a no-brainer. At least with VM I get the speed I pay for and a service that's reliable, with Tiscali I got neither.

Sometime soon you're also going to have them tracking your browsing habits and selling same to Phorm. Some people would rather accept slow service than be spied upon by their own ISP. My advice to fellow Virgin subscribers: Keep watching the Phorm thread.

If it comes to a head and VM do not give me an opportunity to opt-out of this Phorm, I shall opt-out of VM, permanently.
But personally I don't think it will come to that, VM must realise the depth of feeling out there, and I believe they will follow "Talk Talks" example by doing what they should have done in the first place and make it an opt-in scheme. Anything other than this will be commercial suicide on VMs part.
