Re: Gunman opens fire at US college
For gods, sake. Another one.
Hope the injured will be okay.
Seriously, is this a new sport in America? Shoot up your school/college/workplace?
EDIT: Just read 5 people dead. RIP poor souls.
May the gun law be reviewed, as the right to bear arms, really, is not necessary.

That'll never happen - too many vested interests and influential people in the gun lobby.

Far too many nutters everywhere.
The sad fact is that all the gun reform law in the world would`nt make one bit of difference i dont believe. Not here and most certainly not there.
If your intent on killing yourself and taking as many with you as possible then no law on >insert diety< earth is going to stop you.

Yes, but it's a bit easier with an automatic rifle than a pointy stick (imho)
Strange how the "nutters" never go on rampage at an army camp or a police station - obviously not that insane.
My sympathies are with the victims' families and friends.

Reforms would`nt get rid of all the automatic rifles that are already out there or the ones that would continue to be manufactured & sold on the black market as they would only end up doing.
Talking about the U.S.A of course.
Even here in the UK it`s just so easy to get your hands on that kinda hardware if truth be told.
NO laws whatsoever will eradicate it unfortunately.
Talking about here, there or anywhere else for that matter.
It`s too late,us humans wont rest until we`ve obliterated each other it seems, one way or another

Exactly, instead you've got people calling for more members of the public to be allowed to carry conceiled handguns!
During a discussion with some of them on another forum, I countered with the following scenario.
Billy-Bob goes on a shooting spree at the shopping mall using his conceiled gun.
Panic ensues.
John pulls out his pistol from behind a fountain and starts shooting at Billy-Bob.
Peter see's John shooting, can't see Billy-Bob, assumes John is the one on a shooting spree and so shoots him dead.
Apparently if they were in John's shoes such an event would either "never happen" or they'd be fine with it (accidently being shot - apparently they don't view it as an accident so that's ok then). They'd also be fine with being in Peter's shoes and happy to have killed a man simply because they believed he was shooting others.
And they wonder why I think people who want to carry guns in public are nuts!

When will the yanks wake up and smell the coffee.
If I remember correctly the 2nd ammendment was only really valid in the 18th & 19th century (Blues & the greys)

Another gun tragedy...
And, as per usual, Jack Thompson has already blamed it on videogames...
