Re: advice needed
Cool - check this phone on Nokia's website: High- guality surround sound! Should that be gnuality - Linux surround sound??
So you got a "dongle" - presumably you're talking about a USB Bluetooth adapter? Forgive me but this phone has USB connectivity so why not just use the cable that comes with the phone? KISS: it's always the best way

Re: advice needed
You and me both, what are you calling a dongle? the lead that connects your phone to your pooter? a blue tooth dongle?
Question: have you got a phone manager on CD with your phone?

I find it easier to use bluetooth once it's all set up rather than the USB cable and combined with the lovely Nokia PC Suite, as a computer noob many times did pc suite batter my brain. Then again so did bluesoleil to start with but i'm alright now

Congratulations - I've never been able to make Bluetooth work anything like as reliably as a wired connection so I can't be bothered with it. However I can't see how Bluetooth can possibly be easier as there is nothing to setup with a USB cable. Hmm...though I suppose with a Bluetooth connection your PC doesn't want to add lots of new hardware devices - is that what you had the problem with?

Re: advice needed
okay 1 question
what kind of bluetooth adapter, if its a standard bluetooth 1.0 adapter (hard to get nowadays) then Windows XP will recognise it and will be easier to configure via Nokia PC ****e (I have a disliking to PC Suite as it can be hell to setup correctly).

Re: advice needed
I use bluetooth and don't even touch PC Suite, my dongle came with Bluesoleil software, it was a bit like this http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/12612.htm
When i turn the bluetooth on it's simple to transfer and all my files are in my folder on my chosen folder. So no PC Suite- bliss! Also in that case you don't need the CD that came with the phone. In my opinion Nokia's software just confuses matters, but maybe that's because i've got used to using bluetooth?

goldoni, if you use the phone via Bluetooth then I can recommend http://fma.sourceforge.net
brilliant piece of software for all SE phones.
Tweety, good luck with the dongle on Vista mate...you and the kids will need it. if you know the make of the adapter I might be able to put you roughly in the right direction.
