Looking for Media center Guru.

Hey all,
Ok, so i've got a spanking new dell xps 210 http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/pr...hs1&l=en&s=dhs
which is hooked up to Samsung 40" lcd via a HDMI lead http://www.samsung.com/uk/products/t...Specifications now everything works beautifully except Media Center, when i try to set media centre up to play live tv using a signal supplied from my NTL samsung SMT-2100c STB i get no results. The feed is supplied from the STB via coaxial straight into the TV tuner, but when i go through the set up wizard i get no signal however if i just navigate through media center to watch live tv it shows the channel currently selected on my STB but no audio, i wondering if there is a way to connect from the scart on the STB and how to get the audio. sorry for the ramble on my first post but this is killing me with frustration and i'm desperate to get it sorted.
Thanks,
Moriati.

Re: Looking for Media center Guru.

No TV Card can decode a Virgin Media signal! Lol you need to connect via RGB or something like that

Re: Looking for Media center Guru.

The op is connecting via a coaxial connection FROM the STB. It shouldn't have no problem in finding the signal from the box.

set it up composite and send the audio via phono to 3.5mm stereo headphone adapter plugged into audio input

http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/AD001.html video signal to composite input

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=31700 something like this for audio

well i happened to have the scart composite adapter just kicking around but i'll have to go and buy one of the audio leads, ok so it worked like a charm as will the audio lead when i get one i'm sure, now all i got to figure out is how to get the damn IR sensor receiver/sender working with my STB. thanks to all for their speedy responses
