Netgear DG834G Woes

My old DG834G v1 packed up last week, so I got a new v3. Ever since I've been able to connect fine using Ethernet, but not wireless.

My Wii downstairs can't even see the network and my laptop can see the network, but just stays connecting for ages, then gives up. I've set it to broadcast, and used no authentication method, but still no joy. Firmware seems to be the latest too.

I had no issues with my old v1 for about 2/3 years and the range was excellent.

I'm a day away from sending it back and getting a RangeMax to see if that helps, but just wondered if anyone had similar issues ?

Its driving me potty

Edit - Just out of interest, the wireless part of my v1 still works, could that be used as an extender ?

have you tried changing the default broadcast channel?
