should it happen?

I think I am getting power calls ( nobody on the other end of the telephone after call ringing comes in)

I have had a number of these calls plus some sales calls.

I was originally registerred with that setup (when I was a BT customer) to stop unsolicited calls.

Have I lost that service now I am with virginmedia?

TPS works fine with VM. Did you keep the same number? If you are unsure, you can always re-register.

Re: should it happen?

It's reccomended you re-register every two years with TPS so hopefully this will sort it for you.
Good luck.
