port still blocked

Hi guys,

I've been trying to unblock ports for p2p programmes for the past few days and I still haven't managed it. I've unblocked them on my firewalls and I've tried to foward them on my router, I have a linksys wrt45g with dd-wrt firmware. Could someone please help me!

Re: port still blocked

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Dont know if this is at all related but i spent half a day trying to setup port forwarding on a brand new Linksys ADSL router today only to find there is a firmware bug in all versions which prevents the forwarding on some ports! solution was to setup the pc/server as the DMZ host. This worked OK but is far from ideal.

Like I said, dont know that this is the cure in your case but might be worth a try.

Terry

DMZ is under the applications and gaming tab using the orignal firmware. In DD-WRT I think its got its own tab called DMZ-Host .Been so long since I used DD but anyway dig around in the configuration menus and you'll find it and then enter your lan IP in the box and enable.
