NTL D4100 phone troubles

hi all my first time here so wasn't sure were to post this.

i am currently using a NTL D4100 phone on a BT line and for the past 10 months have ahd no troubles.

in the past 5 days my phone has failed to recieve any incoming calls and also does not make any outgoing calls. i can't even hear my messages.

its not the phone line, because i checked that was working by using a corded phone.
the phone thats on the base unit is fully charged and so is the phone in my living room, so its not the batteries.

on the display of the phone itself usually i can see the unit number of the phone so like the one on the base unit says 01 at the far right and then on the opposite side of the display there is the battery status and then a little aerial symbol to signify strength of signal.

for the past few days the aerial symbol has been flashing, i have looked through the troubleshooting guide supplied and it says that it may be out of range, but the phone was in the charger.for the past 5 days also the 01 at the far right dissapears for a couple of hours then re-appears.

mains is connected properly and so is the phone line, the phone is registered to the correct base, and so i am at a loss as to what the problem could be.

the strange thing is that every 6-7 hours the phone reverts back to normal, so i am able to make calls and recieve them, but then after about 30 mins the problem arises again

any help would be grateful

Re: NTL D4100 phone troubles

I am non tecy but it does suggest a fault in the batteries or the charging system as it seems to be partial charging and then as soon as a load is placed on the batteries they fail.
