Re: Wireless mouse flashes when pc is turned off

All wifi optical mice flash IIRC after some time. If its wireless and uses batteries it should turn itself off after about 10 minutes if it is not disturbed. Try turning it upside down and see if it shuts itself off. Mine would often stay on because it detected a difference on the optical sensor, even if it hadn't moved.

Re: Wireless mouse flashes when pc is turned off

My wireless mouse used to do this - very annoying as my computer is right next to my bed I've gone back to an optical cord mouse now.

Re: Wireless mouse flashes when pc is turned off

My wireless Microsoft mouse uses a usb adaptor - when not in use the adaptor is slotted into it's holding space on the underside of the mouse which switches the mouse off thus saving the battery.

Re: Wireless mouse flashes when pc is turned off

if its a normal optical usb mouse its mainly to do with the power thats still in the USB port.

only way to fix this is if you totally unpower your machine every time you switch it off.

Not 100% true, the microsoft cordless optical mice flash all the time unless you take the batteries out.

How about a nice laser mouse? they've gotten quite resonable lately i picked a basic mini logitech laser mouse up for my laptop for £10 in pcworld
