Laptop hangs at shut down n when i hibernate
helo...
am having issues with my laptop for the past 2 days. i was hoping the nice peeps out there could help me plz!
whenever i try to shut down or hibernate the system it logs me out of windows but then hangs!
when hibernating it goes to the log off screen n hangs there-it doesn't display the 'hibernating screen'! I can still move the cursor. i then have to manualy switch off the laptop. when i switch on it starts as u usualy start up windows, not like when u come out of hibernate mode.
witt shut down it hangs at the screen where it says 'windows is ready to shut down' or sth like tht. again i can move the cursor.
i have tried a system restore yet as the only thing is installed was a few mozilla add ons.
the last registry changes happend on the 16th but i stil restored it. the past 2 days i have played around with my setting though to figure out wats up!
my system is as such:
win xp pro
amd turion 64 1.6ghz
1gb ram
60gb hard drive-partitioned in 3 roughly 20gb sectors.
at startup:
look n stop
nod32
ati software
the mouse software-as its a laptop
system safety monitor
trend micro anti spyware
i use hibernate coz i sometimes leave my laptop for 2 hours and i thought its beter to hibernate rather than switch off n on in such a short period!
thk uuuuu
PS a full system scan with nod32, avg anti spyware n spybot search n d did not reaveal anyth.
