zune.com

Heh, just saw that zune.com isn't owned by Microsoft, but is owned by someone from London.

I'm amazed that Microsoft have released a product without having the domain name for said product. I remember when the new name for Andersen Consulting was being decided upon, one of the big criteria was that the name wasn't already registered to anyone else - including the domain name.

I wonder how rich whoever owns this is gonna be if they decide to sell it? Imagine if they sold it to Apple, who put a redirect on it that sent you to apple.com/ipod

Re: zune.com

bizarre also that he lives in london and has a phone number in spain.

Apple wouldn't be able to use the page as that would be a breach of trademark law... this guy can carry on happily using it for his unrelated business though if he wishes... some kind of construction work by the look of the site.

Re: zune.com

Yeah, but corporations always try and illegally claim they have the right to it, and try to scare people into giving it with court action. They take it to ICANN and they tend to side with, shock horror, the corporation (can't have anything to do with money?!)

Re: zune.com

Yeah, you're right... kinda like the bloke who liked sheep and registered baa.com and then met with the wrath of the British Airports Authority (although he still runs baa.net apparently )

edit: found the link - blimey that was back in 2000!
