Printer cartridges

Hi All
Can anyone help
I have re-installed Windows XP Prof, I have had to re-install the software for my Epson C62 printer, but now the the printer will not recognise the cheaper cartridges !
Normally if you install a non-epson cartridge you get a message "not using epson cartridge will compromise the quality of the print" and then the message "do you want to continue". this message is not coming up and no matter what I do the printer will not recognise the cartridge and therefore I can't print anything.
Any idea's !!!

Re: Printer cartridges

Weird.

Did the cartridges work previously, or did you just install them freshly? Have you used this brand before?

Re: Printer cartridges

I've never used an Epson printer, but seem to remember a friend having a similar problem, his 'compatible' cartridge had lost its id

you could have a look at this

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...versal%20Zapit

but check it will work with his printer model
