Moving NTL
Hey all,
I am moving out to a flat close to home. Problem is i wana take my uncapped NTL with me. However the current bill is under my mothers name, as she had the telephone and tv.
Is this possible and how do i convince NTL that i am moving.
Is it all possible. At the same time we have AOL over the BT line. Although there is no cap the connection is absolute ****, and intermiten.

Re: Moving NTL
Can you not just get it in your name when you move? Also I am not sure what you mean by your uncapped Ntl

Re: Moving NTL
We'll at the moment i am doing alot of downloading, and when i say alot i mean it. lol.
My service has not stoped and i have not been charged extra.
To my knowledge new users have a 3GB per month usage allowance on the 1MB. I could not live with that.

Re: Moving NTL
I think every one has that it is just that they are "soft" caps at the moment and no one is getting jumped on but from what I hear NTL will be enforcing them sooner rather than later

Re: Moving NTL
I thought i was special.
Really, i though being an old customer the cap didn't apply.
As i stated before im reluctant to go with a phone line service such as aol and bt.

Re: Moving NTL
I am sure you are special in your own way but not were NTL are concerned lol.
I think the only way you are going to do it is to start your own account when you move

Re: Moving NTL
Yeah i suppose so.
Im not sure if you or anyone will know the answer but, when moving in if there is a bt line and i take up bt broadband or aol through the phone line do i have to pay line rental of some sort, as you line rental. As you can understand being a 19 yr old student a phone line is not important.
AOL alos offer some other service over an NTL line, does that mean an NTL line is required or they put in a new line.
Thankd for all the help

Re: Moving NTL
Ok with NTL if you have BB you do not need to pay for the phone line as for the others I really do not know
Calling all other members do you know the answer to the other questions

Re: Moving NTL
Ntl are the only ones to offer broadband without need for a phone line (which, yes you have to pay for!) So you can have ntl BB as a stand alone service.
All you need to do is create a new account when you move, assuming that any minimum contract term is completed on your Mother's acount.
The same usage rules apply to existing and new accounts as posted above, so you will be no better/worse off!
Which area do you live in?

We'll im ok with the service at the moment, but if a limit is imposed 3GB will not suffice.

Thing is, there is a limit, which applies to everyone

http://www.home.ntl.com/page/telephoneinfocompare
you would need to pay BT line rental, plus the subscription to the ISP.

Yes
No - £10.50/month if you pay direct debit.

Re: Moving NTL
I know i am going more than 3GB a month at the moment.
Like downloading lots of series of my fav tv programs not forgeting the heaps of spam in my outlook mail box as we'll as hours of family web surfing on a pc and laptop.
Looks as if they are not imposing the limit at the moment.
I think best option will be to leave NTL at home and my brother can pay for that.
Transfer my AOL to new adress and get cheapest line rental. Then i gota find out if the flat even has a fixed bt line or a new one will cost £90 or so.
Feck!
