Is there a FREE 1571 for ntl?

Hi,

We have been paying for the voicemail service for years now with NTL and since there price increases this now costs £1.75 a month. Is there a free 1571 basic voicemail service they are not telling us of, or will we loose all voicemail if we cancel this charge?

Some areas do have a free service.

Job done - many thanks. I wish they would have said something about this, espicaially when they increased the prices automatically. I even think I spoke to a CS adviser about this when the price went up and they said that if we droped it we wouldn't have any kind of 1571 service.

Re: Is there a FREE 1571 for ntl?

Yesterday I had this activated on my line and since then I have had no calls, as all calls went to the voice mail, it was set to 0 rings on ntl's end. also I have no call divert now as they cancelled this on setting up and I shall have for 48 hrs for it to be activated. I wish they would let customers set up services them selves through a website, as this is the second time you ask them to do something simple and it takes you days to rectify the errors they have made.

Question Re: Is there a FREE 1571 for ntl?

If u want to change the number of rings before the Voicemail kicks in do I need to ring CS or can I do it myself somehow ?

Also when I enter my postcode on the ntlhome site it shows me their 'Freedom' services, even though I'm in a fully cabled area, why?

Thanks

The only way to get it is to ring up and ask for it, so you might as well ask them if it is available at the same time.

Yes, but you need to ring NTL to ask them to change the number (it is not an automatic menu option like with BT).
