TV error

My TV box crashes every 30 minutes with mute003 error. Engineer came over and fitted a small object to lower the signal, apparently it was to high -now it crashes every 20 minutes DOH

I have what looks like an old box, can they just change it - will try and get through again tomorrow, was on hold for 1 hour today and had to put phone down before I put it through the TV

Re: TV error

Funny you should say that - been having exactly the same problem. On second stb, works fine for about 20 minutes, then crashes (the error given is "corrupt tuning parameters). Engineer first said signal strength was too high (69db), then said it was too low as it was split from the other stb. However, the other stb works fine. In any case he said he'd put in a request to lower the signal strength, which should come through in 24 hours. I'm pretty sure I'll be calling CS again tomorrow...

Crappy old PACE boxes is probably the cause, to my mind. And will we get a discount off our next bills for the problems? Yeah, right

Re: TV error

Err - if the signal's too strong, it would be just as likely to crash a samsung box as a pace one - people give the Pace boxes a bad rep, but I really can't see what the problem is!

Re: TV error

I wouldn't get excited about getting a Samsung box, I have had mine since the speed upgrade last year and I have more problems with it than the pace box I used to have. Many of the channels just lock and freeze, the picture stutters, the event log is full of Post RS errors, the box has on occasion just decided to reset itself - oh and many a time I have a long list of channels just called 0 and half the channels I am meant to have just magically disappear - not quite sure whats going on with it but its very annoying as I cannot purchase any PPV movies as I know full well it will have a fit and then I will have to spend half my life on the phone to CS trying to get through - bring back the pace boxes I say!
