Question Problem saving jpgs in IE

Right before anyone starts I do use Opera and Firefox sometimes but IE as well, now whenever I right click a picture to save picture as all it lets me do is save as an untitled BMP, this has happened before but I can't rember how to fix it or what is causing it. I have ran a fw spware dectector progs but they not fixed it, has this happened to anyone else and if so any ideas how to fix it. Its really bugging me.
Thanks

That has been happening to me for years. I have never found a rhyme or reason to it. Doesn't matter what computer/OS I was using. I put it down to something with the web server.

Re: Problem saving jpgs in IE

I have the same problem which mainly occurs when I save images from one particular web site, it used to be fine but something has obviously changed. It has also been known to occur if I open up several windows with images on them and then try to save them.

I've tried to solve the problem and did everything microsoft suggest but the problem still occurs.

A bit time consuming but if it's only with the one site, and changing browsers doesn't help, you could right click on the image, choose properties, copy the URL of the image and download with a download manager

This whole cache fiasco would appear to be a major issue for IE and i know some people that have deleted their index.dat file and had XP Windows File Protection System automatically create another new file. Worked for them..... oh sorry, i dunno lol

Edit: sorry..... am also on ebay waiting the last 13 mins for the bidding to end and i'm the highest bidder and losing my head

Edit2: 11 mins 18 sec........

Edit3: 9 mins 13 sec.......

Edit4: 3 mins 36 sec.......

Edit5: 1 min 9 sec

YES!!! THE LALIQUE IS MINE!!!!!! oh and glad you're sorted too darthyoda
