How to access the Internet from Hospital?

Hi Guys,
My Dad`s in hospital in Norwich for a couple of weeks or so and he has his laptop with him, he has an access point in his room but he needs the access numbers for "Yahoo.com" or "Tiscali.fr" to access his email account etc.
Can anyone give me any pointers in the right direction please? i`ve spent about two hours on this and all i got was an indian guy in pakistan or somewhere who i could`nt understand from Tiscali calling me `newcastle`!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please help me!

are you allowed to connect in the hospital room? I thought those lines were only allowed to be used for call box phones that they wheel around?

IIRC, Tiscali only lets you send email when you dial through their POP, you'll be stuck with web mail.

Re: How to access the Internet from Hospital?

I visited the local hospital today for a check up and noticed a new er well it looked like a vending machine.

But it was some kind of top like the ones that you get for your mobile.
Anyway after asking about it they said that basically what is going to happen is that patients will have access to personal TV system and access for phone and access points for laptops which then could connect to the internet? which will then be paid for by purchasing top ups from the machine.

The machine only appeared in the last 5 days.

Other then that I have no other information but thought I would share it.

when i was in hospital last year they had a similar system to that , you purchased a prepay card that gave you access to individual tv etc , here i reckon is a link about it , it can work out a bit expensive for a long stay though

Re: How to access the Internet from Hospital?

My wife was in hospital recently and had tv and phone on her bed.
All you had to do was purchase a top up card for varying amounts of money. I think it was a tenner for 5 days. This enabled you to purchase tv time (at 24hrs a time), make phone calls and access the internet.
My only warning is that it was about 40p a minute to call.

Ps. Make sure you get the patients id no. off the screen because you need to put it in when you call.
