2 Issues - seeking help (mobo/wifi)

Hi all,

a friend of mine asked for my help in fixing a pc.

it has an asus A8V del mobo
http://usa.asus.com/products/mb/sock...d/overview.htm
with the ASUS WiFi-g (Wi-Fi@HOME) wirless card.

The computer has 2 issues.

1. freezes randomly at any time in windows from the login screen to web browsing. No heat issues or anything i can see RAM seems fine.
I installed the VIA chipset drivers and that seemed to help alot but is there any other drivers i should install? (normally an Intel man so kinda lost) i installed via 4-1 so far.

2. Wifi card - had some issues with it, i couldnt get it to use the windows networking "wizards" in xpsp2 it would only use the asus software so i figured ok i will uninstall it and reinstall and see how it goes uninstalled it then noticed i didnt have any drivers for it had a look on the web couldnt find any except some on the asus site under another mobo downloads page tried them no luck
so if anyone knows where i can get drivers for my asus wifi card id be very gratefull its the one listed on this page http://usa.asus.com/products/mb/sock...d/overview.htm

its a small pci card Sn 4AMG0Z7821
Thanks in advace

hae a nice weekend

Re: 2 Issues - seeking help (mobo/wifi)

i'd say the via 4in1 drivers would probably have fixed the freezing problem

surely you want the drivers for the PCI card specific to the operating system? Not sure why you think it has to be for a certain mobo?

Re: 2 Issues - seeking help (mobo/wifi)

it could be the hard drive starting to fail. you can normally download some software from the maker to test the drive.
