Missing emails?

Hi - Over the last couple of weeks I seem to have had a number of emails that have gone missing - some from me to others - some from others send to me.

I'm really puzzled as to why this should be but I wondered if any other NTL BB users (I'm in the BH area on 300k) have experienced the same?

Re: Missing emails?

Sorry to hijack your thread, but on a similar note is anyone else having probs sending to AOL? I replied to a couple of people and four days later I get a message back from ntl saying it was undeliverable.

ya... as far as i know AOL have not updated their white list- ntl's smtp server has changed ip address and AOL have not updated their white list to take this into account... this information has been passed to AOL by ntl and should be resolved by AOL asap

Get your own thread!

In answer to your question, yes, me too. This in part answers my question in that some of the missing emails were to a friend with an AOL email address. They actually received my emails this evening having sent them last Saturday. I never received a message from NTL telling me they were undeliverable.

However, that doesn't answer my question about other non-AOL recipients who haven't had my emails or emails from other non-AOL who have sent to me and I haven't seen theirs.

Anyone?

Re: Missing emails?

there have been intermittent problems with the smtp server.... as were reported on the server status page over the weekend.

However, these should now have been resolved.

Re: Missing emails?

I remain suspicious that mails are not getting through - not, as NTL suggest, delayed, but not getting through. Suspicion strenghtened by reports from one sender (yeah only one, but how do you know who has sent stuff that hasn;t arrived... and my inbox is suspiciouly quiet). An NTL techie did once admit to me mails had been lost during one of the regular server failures so guess nothing much has changed. And I'm suspicious of the new anti-spam measures as no detail on how they define what is spam and what isn't has been given. Sorry if I sound cynical but that's what being an nTL customer makes you after a while (anyone listening there at NTL HQ (Aizad Hussain perhaps? If so, your company is crap. You treat us like dogs. Your customer services people are spectacularly hopeless (though techies refreshingly honest - in my experience many think they think you're crap too. Sort it out mate).
