Webspace and secure log in

Dont really know if this is possible.

I put out a newsletter once a month for a friend..been thinking of instead of e-mailling 50 people in the news group with word documents, have an html newsletter posted to my webspace done in frontpage.

Is it possible to have any sort of sign in or security,to make sure only known people in the group have access...password system etc.

Suspect its not poss with ntl webspace, but any suggestions welcome
