samsung SMT 2100c NTL Help

Dear All,

I have just been upgraded from Pace to the SMT 2100c box from Sansung.

On the Pace box I could tune the TV into the analog signal.

Does anyone know how to do this with the Samsung box. At the momment I can just tune the TV into the cable box. No good if you want to record the other side.

you wll need to use the basic aeriel lead from a say wall socket or maybe ask ntl CS about it?
I might be wrong but somewhere i read that techs can set up a pass through? as such??

I have contacted NTL and they say I need a spliter, or somthing like that, to connect to the back of the box. They have them on ordered, it will be another 15 days before they recieve them. I have got to phone them back then once they have tested it. Great!!

You don't say where you are, but I'm presuming the Langley network. You need a bypass. It takes the analogue signal off the cable and puts it down a RF connector. It also contains an amplifier so your digital signal isn't reduced, and filters so your TV doesn't harm the ntl network.

The bypasses for the Samsung box are in short supply at the moment, but ring up as asked and you should get one. These will be the first mass-produced ones which is probably why they want to test them.

The Samsung box has a pass-through built in. If you have a TV aerial, you can plug it into the back of the box. The signal from the aerial gets combined with the RF output from the box, and you can record or watch either.
