Question Wierd semi-tuned channels.

Hi,
I recently started watching my ntl up stairs through coaxial cable and noticed a few sort of visible channels tuned in. I never noticed this before because I only used a scart lead. I just wondered is there any other channels, (maybe encrypted) coming through the coaxial output of my set top box?

Cheers.

Re: Wierd semi-tuned channels.

usually BBC1 through to Channel 5 are carried, but it depends on which area you're in. If you have a TV which can tune to VHF as well as UHF, then you may be able to get a few other channels, but these are usually filtered out by the STB.

HTH

When my dad bought a new (akai) tv, he did an auto tune on his new tv (he had NTL analogue) and he picked up several encryted channels eg sci-fi channel, bravo, sky one etc. I asked an engineer and he said that the AKAI tv probably has a very sensitive tuner. My dad got about 13 extra encrypted channel for free. havn`t met anyone else who has a tv that does this though.....
