Automatic Standby?

Hi there,

Experiencing some wierdness with my Surfboard SB4100 CM, it seems as if it is putting itself on standby randomly. Or so claimed by other members of the family. It is on the bottom of the computer table unit so the button could be kicked accidently, but they assert that they haven't been near it.

Is there an option somewhere to go onto standby after a certain period, or is it just broke?

Anyone else experienced this?

Gah, hope not, it isn't that old. Plus I'd rather keep the SB than switch to the Ambits...

Anyway, at the moment its just a mild annoyance since when it happens, the standby button simply needs to be pressed to bring it out of standby

Re: Automatic Standby?

Because of the working status of the setup I currently have. My CM runs into the USB of my Linux server (I know, but I'm out of spare PCI) and it works a treat. I don't have the guarantee that any other modem would work in the same way without having to recompile a load of things.

Plus the SB looks better :P
