How long to upgrade ??
Tried and failed to do a 600K -> 1Meg upgrade via the web, so rang NTL and after only a few seconds wait got a helpful lady who went through my details and said she had got the upgrade sorted.
Now trying the Robin Walker speedtest and it still shows a 600K connection
How long does it take for the upgrade to be completed. Should it be immediate or is this an overnight job ??

Re: How long to upgrade ??
Reboot the cable modem/STB & your PC, & all should be fine.

Re: How long to upgrade ??
Should be straight away - have you tried rebooting both your PC and the box/SACM you're connected through? Which are you connected through?

Connected through cable modem (Terayon TJ210) and SMC Router to PCs
Rebooted everything. Still showing spot-on 600k connection.

3rd 128K took 1833 ms = 71507 Bytes/sec = approx 595 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 1852 ms = 70773 Bytes/sec = approx 589 kbits/sec

Re: How long to upgrade ??
Black vertical box with LEDs - Still looks the same as ever with Power, Cable and PC LEDs on and Data LED flashing.
Think I'll give NTL a ring if it's supposed to be immediate. Original question was just to check if that was how upgrades were supposed to work.....

Re: How long to upgrade ??
Ive been down to 600k from 1meg, and back to 1meg again. Each time over the phone its been trouble free, and about a 5-10 minute wait in each case for it to "take effect".
I re-booted the sacm and pc just in case.

Re: How long to upgrade ??
upgrades on a SACM takes abt 2 mins if you still have not got the speed i would guess they haven't done it correctly, ring back and check with them

Re: How long to upgrade ??
Rang NTL - Again very quick response, and got it sorted. While on the line I was using the speedtest and it showed an immediate fix.
Thanks for the ideas - just wanted to be sure if it should have been an immediate procedure or not - looks like it can be, but sometimes isn't. Maybe it depends on area.

Re: How long to upgrade ??
You can change service level once every month - up or down. They'll normally make an exception if you want to go up, but when you go up, you have to stay there for 30 days before you can downgrade.

Re: How long to upgrade ??
You could downgrade in 30 days time. You are still tied into your original 12-month contract, but there is no new 12-month contract.
