This may seem like an odd question
Is there an Issue with NTL 250 modems and heat or with heat in general.
Like the post says it may be a odd question but throughout the summer when we had the minor heatwave i had intermitant internet service, now as we are experiencing an increase in climate temp (27oC today and yesterday) i am again getting intermitant internet service.
Just wonderring if anyone else is getting this prob.
last time i rang CS they arranged an engineer visit engineer came out and confirmed that i was indeed getting intermitant service but as it came on when he was here there was nothing he could really do, i don't want to ring NTL about this again as i will probably get the same results, wait a wek for engineer to visit and when he comes out nothing is wrong.
So again i ask is anyone else getting this ????

Re: THIS MAY SEEM LIKE AN ODD QUESTION
It's more likely to be the green boxes in the road heating up.

Re: This may seem like an odd question
Right while i do appreciate the quick responses from you guys i had the same issue today as in my connection bugged out on me this afternoon and i know it's not the heat buildup in the CAB as it's been peeing it down all day and it's pretty chilly here in ST Neots..
Having rung T.S they say it's a prob with my modem as they ready light is flashing all the time,my answer to them was if it is my modem why does it come back on b4 you send an engineer out.....

I still think you may have a levels issue. If the levels coming into your modem are border line then any and i mean any change in temp will affect you. Get a engineer out to check your levels

That upstream power level looks too high.

Re: This may seem like an odd question
Hi your upstream power level is to high at 58 dbmv this wil cause problems .A servic tech should check the levels at the modem and the upstream path of the modem it could be a no.of things causing this

Have to fully agree with the last 2 posters. That upstream level is your problem.

Re: This may seem like an odd question
so this would be causing my intermitant connection drops ?
Are tech sup open on saterdays ?
If so how would i word my reason for an engineer visit, as i'm thinking if they see i'm running ok while i call them they may say that i don't need a visit as it's working...
