Another Redundancy Thread
well, the axe has fallen on my head this time.
90 days from today and I'll be out on my ear, years of service and experience doesn't seem to count for anything.......
It's a big wide world out there and I'm hopeful that I can find something else especially with a mortgage to pay...
Anyway, off for a bath and a soak and maybe I should get drunk tonight, roll in late with a hangover and sit with my feet up on the desk and stick the proverbial two fingers up

Re: Another Redundancy Thread
Sorry to hear your bad news, Marge - my thoughts are with you.
I do know what you are going through, as it happened to me in May this year.
Don't let the b*st*rds grind you down - be true to yourself, and you cannot be false to any other.
Take care.

Re: Another Redundancy Thread
Sorry to hear that Marge, there have been quite a few this week it seems.
My advise is if your redundancy is worth anything to keep your head down and your fingers in polite positions as its happened in the past that any reason has been found to "let someone go" and not pay redundancy.

Re: Another Redundancy Thread
I just cannot believe that, IIRC, 'Marge' is trained in both customer service & technical support roles &, as we know here, has been consistently helpful & customer focused.
The loss of that experience, is bad enough, the loss of the helpful attitude makes it worse.
I am utterly surprised that someone so representative of the kind of approach I would like to think Virgin are bringing to the table, could be affected by cold blooded 'bean counting'
