Disconnection

Help anyone ?
Been with NTL and Diamond Cable before them for about 10 years.
Pay all bills by direct debit.
Used phone on Wednesday about 1300, tried again 1500..line dead
rang NTL you have been disconnected was the reply .. as if I didnt know !
Why ?
Dont know but we will sort it out and you will be back on in 2 hours at the most.
Rang back after 4 hours.. needless to say no line !
They made a mistake.. it will take a maximum of 2 days to get you reconnected !
2 days up.. rang again you have been given wrong info.. it usualy takes 3-5 days !
Tried another line going via the accounts confirming d/d had gone in.. finally sent down the line 3-5 days no chance probably 7 -10 days....

I feel a call to BT coming on very shortly... have a nice day y'all
p..d off Alan in Grantham

Have they said what got you disconnected - was it a computer error, or do they not know which might imply a wiring fault?

It sounds like a mess and not only is that too long to take for them to sort it out, you should also be expecting a credit for loss of service, and the cost of your time calling ntl.

Re: Disconnection

It would appear to be either computer or HUMAN error if they exist at NTL !

Re: Disconnection

Human error can be both at the computer interface end. The more worrying, yet frequent occurrence seems to be disturbance of the wires in the cabinet's when they add other customers

If you would like to PM some details to me (account number, name address, daytime phone number, email and the ntl phone number affected) I can see if the forum's contacts can make any sense of this. It is a tad close to the weekend though so this won't be an instant action resolution.

Details received and forwarded. Please do let us know the outcome.
