cancelling tv but keeping broadband

Hi, new member here.

I'm fed up with not watching much tv but paying for a basic ntl TV package. However, I currently also have broadband through my set-top box.

Does anyone know what ntl will do if I cancel the tv package? will I keep the set-top box for the broadband? or will they replace it with some other type of modem? If they replace it, will there be any change or gap in the broadband service?

I'd ring them up but I'm fed up with them charging me to do this!

cheers for any help

They should change the stb for an sacm, and no, there shouldn't be any gap in service. Don't hold your breath though, just in case!

Thanks for that - I'll give them a call then. Good to hear they "should" sort it on the same day....

Re: cancelling tv but keeping broadband

Is that right? I might try it! Is that just speaking to normal customer services? They've always been of the "we can't help you" type when I ask if there's a cheaper version of things I can go on to. ""cheaper versions are for new customers only, we don't care if you cancel" sort of thing.

cheers though
