Smile Broadband cable extension

Having had a home extension, I now need to move the PC to another room. What cable and connectors do I need to do the job. I know that wireless routers are an option but I wish to examine other options as well.

Re: Broadband cable extension

See this thread...

Seems to be conflicting advice as to whether it's breaking T&Cs....

Re: Broadband cable extension

Much obliged for the thread, I'll go the Maplins route and give it a go.

Re: Broadband cable extension

You don't neccesarily need to move the entry point box.
You could leave the modem where it is and run an ethernet cable to your new building extension.
I bought a 30 metre extension and drilled holes and put the cable through up into the upstairs bedrooms.
It was cheap as the cable cost about £5.00.
See HERE for where you can buy ethernet cable.

Re: Broadband cable extension

On closer inspection, the NTL installation guy had left oodles of spare cable coiled up behind my computer desk, so after unpinning it back to the house entry point, I found I could run it up the corner of the room to the upstairs room where I needed it! Well done the Cable Guy!!!
