Modem not working til I turn off and leave it 45/50 mins.....

(Side note *why is my modem one hour behind GMT*)

Hi,

For the past week my modem has been dropping the net.

The modems ready light will flash on and off(not fast), after a time it will try and sync up, sync light will flash and the ready light will go out.

This time i was looking at the modem logs when it went off.

I was in Cable Modem Downstream and copied this....

Downstream Lock : Not Locked
Downstream Channel Id : 0
Downstream Frequency : 178000000 Hz
Downstream Modulation : QAM64
Downstream Symbol Rate : 5056.941 Ksym/sec
Downstream Interleave Depth : taps128Increment1
Downstream Receive Power Level : 1.5 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 27.2 dB

Downstream Lock : Not Locked
Downstream Channel Id : 0
Downstream Frequency : 594000000 Hz
Downstream Modulation : QAM64
Downstream Symbol Rate : 5056.941 Ksym/sec
Downstream Interleave Depth : taps128Increment1
Downstream Receive Power Level : -3.5 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 22.5 dB

Downstream Lock : Locked
Downstream Channel Id : 0
Downstream Frequency : 586750000 Hz
Downstream Modulation : QAM64
Downstream Symbol Rate : 6952 Ksym/sec
Downstream Interleave Depth : taps12Increment17
Downstream Receive Power Level : -5.3 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 33.3 dB

Then I went into Cable Modem Status and copied this...

Acquire a Downstream Channel 586750000 Hz In Progress
Connectivity State In Progress Not Synchronized
Boot State In Progress Unknown

Acquire a Downstream Channel 586750000 Hz Locked
Connectivity State In Progress Upstream Parameters Acquired
Boot State In Progress Unknown

Thats when the modem would not open any more status pages.

The Log was this.... (no log of anything going wrong at 21-00hrs)

(there is more but you get the idea)

Last night I just turned modem off and left it over night, when I plugged it in this morning it worked.

New log...

It would seem the modem is one hour behind, like I said the modem went off at 21-00, the log says 20-03........ just strange and might have nothing to do with the problem.

Upstream transmit Power Level : 60.8 dBmV thats to high should it not be around 58? Thats what it is now but it was 60 something when it went off.

So people, ideas please.

Make the ideas ones were I dont end up paying £ÃÆ ’‚£Ãà¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£ to get an NTL problem fixed

I suspect NTL is going to need to look at either your connection, or the modem..

ok,

Rang 0871 "give me all your money" tech support.

After 13min waiting it turns out there is a fault, in the box or my modem, well there a little unsure right now.

So I have just paid NTL for doing there job of fault finding. Who is the .

Could I send NTL a bill based on my hourly rate of £55(IT Trouble shooter)

Modem went off about 11-30, so i turned it off and went for a drive with children and wife.

Just got back and powered up, its working but the is my Upstream transmit Power Level is now 46 .

I wonder if anyone will still come 2morrow?

I also wonder if I can now get near to
10240000?
