Office 2007
I cant find a topic related to this but if there is one already I must of overlooked it.
I have been running Office 2007 for a week now both home and work one of the problems that I have found is running it with 512mb is a no no and needs more ram, not sure what the specification is from MS. One thing I have found tonight is that you can save to a PDF file so is handy.
I'm getting more and more used to it, just the navigation around the menus is going to take time to get used to but so far cannot fault it apart from needing more memory.
Outlook is improving each time a new versions comes out and now has RSS which is something I will be making good use of, can get rid of Thunderbird now and just use one client.
For any others currently using it what do you think so far?

Re: Office 2007
I'm using it with a laptop with only 256mb ram and don't much of a problem Been using it for about a couple of months now. Must admit getting used to the menu's etc is a bit of a adventure.

Re: Office 2007
I tried the public beta and was appauled by the resources it demanded, but with it being just a beta, I bet they will streamline down the resource demands.
The GUi is pretty but I would love to see some of the classic style of old school office we are more preferred to.

Re: Office 2007
I wouldn't count on the "Save as PDF" option remaining in final release versions... Adobe are still supposed to be considering taking legal action against MS over that feature, so it could very well be pulled from future versions.

Re: Office 2007
I had to uninstall it from my works laptop today and go back to 2003 due to it just constantly locking up when connecting to our Exchange server. I'd probably of kept it one if I had more RAM or a better processor but no one will buy me a new laptop at work.

It would be nice if they do keep the PDF and it would save us a lot of money at work if they did keep it.

Because I use my Dell Axim for reading research papers as .rpg PDF's and a lot of pre 1999 medical papers haven't been converted to PDF on sites such as 'Spine' so i have been copy/pasting to MS word and then converting to PDF and then on to .rpg from there.
.........you did ask.....

Re: Office 2007
Getting back on topic I take it that those who have replied havent found too many problems with it and are just getting used to the way menus are laid out?

But most research papers are in PDf format and if I convert those to .rpg then I can annotate them on my PDA....WM5 btw
