Sharing my NTL Broadband Connection

I've just come across this web site FON and I was wondering where NTL would stand on something like this?

Basically you allow others to share your Wi-Fi connection, and in return you can use (for free) any other subscribed Wi-Fi connections anywhere in the world. They supply a Wi-Fi router which separates your internal and external networks for 5euros. So it should be pretty secure.

Seems like a cracking idea, but I need to know if NTL would allow it.

Any idea's?

Its being discussed there. I think it would break NTL's TOS actually, and those of a lot of ISPs over here.

Re: Sharing my NTL Broadband Connection

The terms and conditions specify that no more than 3 devices can be connected to the network at any time, so, NTL would not allow it. However, AFAIK, they really don't have anyway of detecting it.

One thing to bear in mind though: If a hacker tries to use your connection to hack somebody, you may be liable..

Re: Sharing my NTL Broadband Connection

I thought they were trying to negotiate with some of the ISPS for this type of thing to be allowed.

They are, but there's no sign that they've reached an agreement with NTL.
