Re: broadband?
yes, although you may need to open the second account in another persons name (partner, housemate etc).
Why do you want two connections though, rather than just getting a router and sharing your existing connection?

Re: broadband?
If anything, getting another account would cause more hassel than if you bought a wireless router.
What broadband speed are you on at the moment?
If your on 10meg i would definately recommend getting a router as you would rarely use the full speed on the 1 computer alone. and if your not on 10meg i would recommend upgrading to it. (cheaper and faster than getting two accounts)

no - a wireless router will also handle a wired connection
In most circumstances the switch in the router will 'share' the connection so you hardly notice.

Re: broadband?
We use a wireless router - we have the desktops wired into the router and then the wireless is available for my laptop.
Works fine, the only slowdown we get is when the kids are on them miniclip type sites which are 90% flash animations :P

Re: broadband?
I run 4 pc's wired and 1 laptop wireless on my 4Mbps (although not all at the same time). No problems speed wise.

Re: broadband?
I have a 4 mb connection, A belkin wireless router for the laptop and the pc on the ethernet cable..
Only just started playing online games on pc, but get a high ping, might be because of the router, might be because of NTL.
Not sure if upgrading to 10 mb would improve, seeing as though most people get around 5 - 6 mb

you would have the modem plugged into the router on the 'WAN' side & the pc plugged into the router on the 'LAN' side. Also available on the 'LAN' side of the router is the wireless connection.
WAN = wide area network i.e. the connection to NTL & thence the internet
LAN = local area network - i.e. your computers, wired or wireless.
so it is
NTL - Modem - router - computers

Re: broadband?
Hi I have the 2mbps (soon to be 4mbps ) NTL BB and run this router which has the capacity for wired and wireless. We have 3 Desktops, 4 Laptops an Xbox and a PS2 all connected wirelessly to the router with usaully at least 3 of the previous running at anyone time without and obvious slowdown unless you're using Bittorrent's, even for gaming we can have both the PS2 online and the Xbox with no issues so you should be fine with just 2 computers running you shouldn't need to have two BB acounts.
